Actor Salman Khan will also be the host of Bigg Boss 17

Speculations are rife regarding the contestants and host of Bigg Boss 17. The names of many celebrities are going viral on social media as contestants. It is being said that actor Salman Khan will host Bigg Boss 17 as well. Meanwhile, it has been learned that actress Nusrat Jahan can also become a contestant on Bigg Boss 17. Nusrat Jahan Roohi is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Bengali cinema. Jahan became actively involved in politics and was elected as a Lok Sabha member from Basirhat constituency as a Trinamool Congress candidate. Jahan’s screen debut was in Raj Chakraborty’s Shotru. Jahan was born to Muhammad Shah Jahan and Sushma Khatoon on 8 January 1990 in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal, India, in a Muslim family from Uttar Pradesh. He completed his schooling at Our Lady Queen of the Mission School, Kolkata, and then graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree at Bhawanipore College, Kolkata. Jahan started her modeling career in 2010 after winning the beauty pageant “Fair One Miss Kolkata”.

She made her Tollywood debut with Jeet’s 2011 film, Shotru. After a gap of one year, she starred in her second film Khoka 420 with Dev. In the same year, she appeared in Khiladi opposite Ankush Hazra. She appeared in two item songs, “Chicken Tandoori” from Action and “Desi Chori” from Yoddha – The Warrior, both of which were hits. She then appeared in Sondhe Naam Aage alongside Jahan Rahul Bose, Rituparna Sengupta, and Payal Sarkar.

In 2015 she starred opposite Ankush Hazra in the comedy film Jamai 420 alongside an ensemble cast including Payal Sarkar, Mimi Chakraborty, Sohum Chakraborty, and Hiran Chatterjee. She was also part of the BCL (Bengal Celebrity League) theme song for the team “Midnapore Mighties” along with Jehan Dev and Sayantika Banerjee. His next and last film of 2015 was Har Har Byomkesh, starring Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar, and Rachel White, released in December 2015. The film was very successful at the box office.

In 2016, she appeared in director Rajeev Kumar Biswas’ film Power alongside Jeet and Sayantika Banerjee. In the same year, she starred in the comedy film Kelor Kirti alongside Dev, Jisshu Sengupta, Ankush Hazra, Mimi Chakraborty, Kausani Mukherjee, and Sayantika Banerjee. Later that year, she was seen opposite Dev in Love Express and then in Zulfikar directed by Srijit Mukherjee with a cast including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Parambrata Chatterjee, Dev, Ankush Hazra, Jisshu Sengupta and Paoli Dam. Zulfiqar was one of the highest-grossing films of 2016. She ended 2016 with the comedy film Haripada Bandwala opposite Ankush Hazra under the direction of Pathikit Basu.

She was first seen in 2017 in Van, directed by Birsa Dasgupta, alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee and Yash Dasgupta. In May 2017, his next film Ami JK Tomar with Ankush Hazra and Sayantika Banerjee was released. Jehan made a guest appearance in the 2018 film Uma, followed by a role in Crisscross, directed by Birsa Dasgupta, and starring Mimi Chakraborty, Priyanka Sarkar, Sohini Sarkar, and Jaya Ahsan. After that, Rajeev Kumar Vishwas selected her for the film Naqab alongside Shakib Khan and Sayantika Banerjee. She danced to the song Joy Joy Durga Maa, composed and picturized by Jeet Ganguly, cricketer Sourav Ganguly, actress Subhashree Ganguly, Mimi Chakraborty, and actor Boney Sengupta were shown on screen. It was released as a promotion by Captain TMT Bar.

In 2020 she appeared in Asura alongside Jeet and Abir Chatterjee and then as ATS technical chief Amanda Jones in an action film on the hostage rescue operation SOS Kolkata alongside Yash Dasgupta, Mimi Chakraborty, Anna Saha, and Shantilal Mukherjee.

On 12 March 2019, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and President of Trinamool Congress Party, Mamata Banerjee announced that Jahan will contest the upcoming general election of 2019 from the Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency. She emerged the winner by a margin of 350,000 votes against BJP candidate Sayantan Basu.

Jahan and businessman Nikhil Jain were married on 19 June 2019, following a reception attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her actress friend and co-parliamentarian Mimi Chakraborty, among other celebrities.

Jehan later claimed that the marriage was not legal and “it was nothing more than a live-in relationship”. Later a Kolkata court ruled that Jahan and Jain’s marriage was legally invalid.

Jahaan started her relationship with actor Yash Dasgupta but their marital status remains unknown as of December 2021. In August 2021, Jahan gave birth to a boy in a private hospital in Kolkata. It is reported that Dasgupta is named as the father on the child’s birth certificate.
